The recent waves of worms and viri may be more sinister and directed than a casual observer may realize. There is a war a war out there between Spam fighters and the Spammers themselves. The spam fighters have made available lists to help ISPs and user software effectively block spam. The spammers dont like this at all. and have directed Worms to attack the anti-spam web sites The worms are spread to thousands of unwitting users, the worm then in co-operation with thousands of other contaminated users attack these sites. Several of these sites have been put out of commission with these Denial Of Service attacks. This is the cost of a a few people who don't keep their computers secure, and those who will actually respond to any spam.
