Radio Free Galveston [WiFi]
The Folks in Austin seem to have taken wifi availability seriously. As a report has shown, In the mean time Galveston has a Beautiful convention center with no conventions. Starbucks is proud of offering T-mobile who wants 30 bucks a month. The Mitchell and Frettita hotels in Galveston haven't caught on, they provide WiFi for a fee. The Library is has free WiFi though so there are some people who understand. Galveston.com has set up a hotspot and plan on setting up more.I haven't found any other free hotspots yet, but I'm going looking. Please if anyone knows of any Free hotspots please let me know. I will put together and maintain a list when there are more than just a couple of places.
The first Galveston.com Wi-Fi Zone was recently launched at the corner of 23rd St. and The Strand - near Saengerfest Park. The current signal is available for wireless-enabled computers within a 5-block radius of that intersection. Soon, the signal will be boosted to greatly expand the reception area. A "Galveston.com Wi-Fi Zone" sticker will be displayed in the windows of operations where the free wireless internet signals are available.

Future Galveston.com Wi-Fi Network development phases will include the Postoffice Street corridor, sections of Seawall Boulevard, and points west.
