Whoopi Complaint Department

Slim Fast.com is a good place to go if you have comments regarding the Whoopi Goldburg firing. I find the firing of Whoopi pretty curious. I haven't found any real organized effort to boycott Slimfast on a web search. Yeah, the Free Republic boast it had something to do with it, but I haven't noticed any call to boycott with the major conservative voices.

This whole thing has a tremendous potential for backlash. Conservatives own the talk show radio waves, and they are paid buy their sponsers. Conservatives have a lot more to lose in a war of the boycott.

There was nothing to be offended at by Whoopi's badmouthing of and word play of Dick and Bush. Her "standup" was to a like minded audience, and was fun in word play. There wasn't even a tape that got out. Her critics believe that this isn't a first ammendment issue, and they are probably right. It is an issue of a few people damaged sensibilities, and an over reaction by the corporate heads at Slimfast. I protested to Slimfast and assured them that Equality and I wouldn't be buying any of their product, and that they were entirely to thin skinned. This isn't a left or right issue, it is about fairness, and unfairness. Its unreasonable to retaliate for a comedians standup act in a private forum.
