Katrina Strikes and Strikes Hard.

The damage is just starting to be unveiled. There appears to be mass devastation in New Orleans, Pass Christian, Gulfport and Pasqualula. The images on the news are of miles of destruction. The folks that evacuated may be the lucky ones. The Streets are now canals and the night time is bringing total black, there is no electricity.

It being said that New Orleans dodged the big one and was spared even more horrific damage. Although the French Quarter has been spared some of the devastation, most of the residential areas are under water. Damage to homes appears almost universal. Even the Superdome received massive roof damage.

Some evacuating folks from New Orleans were finding a hard time finding reasonably priced hotels as they approached Houston. The Comfort Inn at Garth and I-10 was charging $200 for an advertised $79.00 room. Plenty of rooms were/are available in Galveston, but there was little informaton available.

Every dark cloud has a silver lining. There has been no sightings of Cindy Sheehan nor Beth Holloway Twitty.
Update:
Some incredible Photos of New Orleans here
