Wima Moves Off the Yucatan
Wilma is moving off the Yucatan, and drawing a bead onto Florida. Eric Berger believes that wilma followed the worst scenario, by stalling over the peninsula. My worst fears for Wilma are being realized in Mexico. The storm's going to bring 36 hours of category-4 hurricane winds to the eastern half of the Yucatan peninsula. The storm has almost stopped, which will compound the problem by adding more rain. The wetter ground means virtually no trees will be left standing.
And don't look now, but Alpha may form in a couple of days over the Eastern Caribbean. Even if the system does develop, it's not expected to threaten the United States.
He is a little off the mark about Alpha though. At 5:30 CDT the depression was upgraded to a tropical storm. They ran out of names!
