Call to Arms.
Lots of pundits have smuggly pointed fingers at the governments of France that have created conditions that foster unrest. There is plenty of blame to be passed around, but I can see no excuse for the violence imposed on the rioters. They have not made clearly their complaints and subsequentually haven't made clear what to do about it. The first paragraph of our Declaration of Independance makes this abundantly clear.When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation.Today folks have media, mailings and the internet to bring about their complaints. Instead the French disidents just vent their rage without giving dialog a chance. The French people and the elected government are being forced to meet violence with violence and there will be little sympathy given to those who would destroy what others have worked so hard to build. The reason that they protest is that the riots are an emotional venting by mostly young folks who are angry, but intellectually incapable of expressing themselves in meaningful dialog. Instead the rioters are fostering more hatred and distrust with their fellow countryman.
Every night the violence spreads and grows There are people pulling the strings, manipulating and directing this anger. The rioters may not even be aware that they are part of some organized group, or what the unspoken goals are. Rueters implies its Drug Dealers and Islamist Fascist.
Authorities say the rolling nightly riots are being organised via the Internet and mobile phones, and have pointed the finger at drug traffickers and Islamist militants.I don't know how drug dealers would benefit from this social unrest. But the riots do fit in with Islamic Extremist stated goals. I suspect that the anarchist groups that show up at all the WTA summits might be behind some of this. It looks like their style.
One might ask who is being hurt by all this unrest and arson.
When they have aliened all their neighbors and relatives they might stop. They aren't going to find many allies in the with the mainsteam French.Residents in affected zones wept and vented their dismay.
"This is too much, stop! Stop, do something else, but not this, not violence," sobbed a woman in Evreux, a normally quiet Normandy town where a shopping mall, 50 vehicles, a post office and two schools were destroyed.
"My wife's out of a job now," fumed another resident. "I've two kids, a house to pay for and a car loan. What do I do now?"
Evreux mayor Jean-Louis Debre, a Chirac confidant who is speaker of the lower house of parliament, told reporters at the scene: "A hundred people have smashed everything and strewn desolation. Well, they don't form part of our universe."
