Cindy Stands Alone

Cindy is in Crawford, but it looks like no one showed up to her book signed, except for a couple of news photographer types. Perhaps she hads got all of the milage there is to be had out of her dead son.
Anti-war activist Cindy Sheehan waits for people to show up at her book signing near President Bush's ranch on Saturday, Nov. 26, 2005 in Crawford, Texas. Sheehan, whose 24-year-old Casey died in Iraq, called for anti-war activists to return to Crawford this week as Bush celebrated the Thanksgiving holiday. (AP Photo/Evan Vucci)

Nice. Very nice. Of course she couldn't be acting out of any finer feeling than that. Thanks for sharing this picture of your own insides. And, do learn how to spell.
I've got no sympathy for this woman. Her son knew what he was getting into, He believed in what he was doing, and died, for that cause. Cindy was a an outspoken liberal extremist before her son went to Iraq. There can be no doubt that her son would it deplorable the way she has used his name, and capitalized on his death to make her claim to fame. Yes, I find her a detestible piece of shit. I believe almost any veteran would.
As many of you may know already, she was a big anti-war activist long before this war and long before her son joined up to serve his country.
These pinkos are really soemthing else.
A commenter named Wino got it right over at LST yesterday, when he wrote something to the effect that the only people opposed to democracy in Iraq, outside of the Islamofacsists, are the democrats.
And that does NOT include Joe Lieberman, who gave this great speech a couple of days ago:

Liberty,
I for one am happy this whole Cindy thing is dying down. My sympathies lie almost as far left as you can get and Cindy makes liberals look absolutely terrible. She shames herself with relentless pathos and speaks to the lowest common denominator of people who choose partisanship on the basis of Dr. Phil Chicken Soup for the Soul empty crap. Speaking as someone whose in the same generation that is dying over there, if I were her son, I would be ashamed of her, pro-war or anti-war. She represents what's wrong with both parties: vacant hype. Let me know how Vegas treats you.

It upsets me as a veteran. That someone could so so disrespect her sons beliefs and memorries to capitalize on them.
I really don't think Cindy is making most of those who are to the left, or against the war look bad. Because there are people making reasonable discusions (They can be reasonable and still wrong.) about timetables and getting out. Cindy pisses me off not because of the side she takes on an issue, but because she is taking her dead son and raising him up on a staff, to get the world to pay attention to her.
I do differ with those who follow closely with the Bush's party line. Although I support the war and believe that the potential for good is worth the risks we must take. I do think we need to keep watch and continually evaluate why we are there and the risks we are taking. War is ugly and bad things happen, the liberals can keep us hawks honest.
