An Osteen Temper Tantrum
Victoria Osteen got a little upset when she discovered that her seat was wet from a spilled drink, and the flight attendents didn't clean it to her satisfaction. Victoria Osteen is the very visable wife of Rev. Joel Osteen who is the pastor of Lakewood Church, the largest church in Houston. The Osteens run the largest church in the nation, so passengers on a Continental flight were shocked Monday when Mrs. Osteen was removed from that flight after a disturbance. It's interesting t o notice how area bloggers note this incident.Taking time off from the high profile hustle and bustle of running a mega-church, Lakewood Church Pastor Joel Osteen and his family boarded Continental flight 1602 Monday morning at Houston's big airport. They were bound for the slopes in Colorado.
Their trip was delayed and so was the entire flight by almost two hours. Fellow passengers blame the popular Osteens, specifically Joel's wife, Victoria.
According to passenger accounts, the Osteens were sitting in first class. Soon after the plane's door was closed, the FBI says Victoria Osteen was removed following what Continental would call only a disturbance. The Osteens' spokesman confirms it involved a flight attendant, but that's all. However, one passenger tells Eyewitness News she was alerted to the front of the plane when she heard a commotion.
"She violently ran towards the cockpit, scaring everyone around her," said passenger Knicky Van Slyke. "Everyone was terrified about what was going on. And a bunch of flight attendants ran up and had to restrain her. She was banging on the door."
"Of the cockpit?" we asked.
"Yes."
At the Lone Star Times, Matt wonders why the family is flying first class just before Christmas, while Laurence Simon suggest it might be a congregational Christian takeover of an airplane and at blogHouston Ann Linehan thinks that Victoria is under some stress. Jessie Bonnner thinks it might be OK for the Osteens to take an expencive vacation if they are properly tything, while at Theoblogia they think it might be just to much enthusiasm. Meanwhile at Continental airlines and at the FBI they aren't talking much.
I don't read much into the whole thing, but her behavior inconvienienced a lot of people, and it would seem that the Christian thing to do would be to apologize publically to the other [assangers who were incovienienced by a 2 hour delay. The FBI reviewed a report from Continental after the incident, Garcia said. No charges will be filed, she said.
The flight was delayed more than an hour while the Osteens' luggage was retrieved, Garcia said. The family took another flight to Colorado, where church spokesman Don Iloff said they were skiing Tuesday.
Iloff called the disagreement with the flight attendant "minor" but would not say what happened.
"In semantics, they might have been asked to be removed," he said. "Really, it was more of a mutual thing."
Continental spokeswoman Julie King would not discuss the disagreement but said in a statement that the situation was resolved.

Yes. That would be the Christian "thing" to do. But it is amazing how a "Christian" who lives in North America may respond when they are inconvenienced or, let's say, their riches are defected. Sadly, this is just another mark against the testimony of what a Christian *ought* to be.

No one has mentioned a word about what the flight attendant might have said or done to Mrs. Osteen. I have taken many flights in my life in different parts of the world and some of the most rude flight attendants have been in the US. And why is it a mortal crime for someone who helps others, spiritually and financially, and, takes a well deserved vacation, to be "Cruicified", when people think nothing about giving hundreds of millions of dollars for entertainment trash and never say a word. Sounds like a real case of "ENVY" to me.
Where there is smoke there is fire. If Victoria did slap the flight attendant , i hope the attendant will sue her...not only that i think she deserves jail time for assault and battery and endangerment of all the passengers on the flight.
Americans tend to be so naive and gullible when it comes to matters spiritual they fall all over themselves because some one preaches a mantra , is charismatic, sings gospel songs well or have a flashy toothy smile and they immediately embrace him as the one annointed by Jesus. Americans confuse entertainment with spirituality.
The Osteens ought to be ashamed of themselves masquerading as spokesperson of Jesus of Nazareth, preaching a false creed of success and selfishness -- what the heck is a 'pastor' and his 'wife' seating in a first class seat , and excusez moi, being on route to a 'ski-vacation ' in Vail colorado? If he is so annointed with the holy spirit , don't you think the holy spirit which is God's unconditional love will be moving him and his Victoria to be heading for Iraq to minister to the poor soldiers who are in the fore front of danger to bring freedom and democracy to those troubled lands? Don't you think the holy spirit would not be moving him and her to be feeding the hungry, giving water to the thirsty, caring for the sick, clothing the naked and sheltering the homeless. I say to you this, instead the UHOLY SPIRIT OF HYPOCRISY,CHARLATAN ENTERPRENEURSHIP, SELFISHNESS, SELF AGRANDISEMENT, GREED ETC. ARE MOVING THEM TO GALAVANT AROUND THE COUNTRY IN A FIRST CLASS SEAT OF AN AIRPLANE , SPENDING THEIR ILL BEGOTTEN MONEY WHICH THEY HAVE FLEECED FROM MILLIONS OF GULLIBLE FOOLS WILLING TO PAY FOR A BOOK AT WALMART AND SUNDRY BOOK STORES to learn this young men's false preaching and distortion of Lord Jesus's message.
It is an Unholy spirit that had moved Victoria Osteen into a hissy fit - clear testimony that they are not possessed of the Holy Spirit but rather the Spirit of Charlatanship and Hippocrisy and by their fruits and action ye will know them.
I recommend that both Mr. and Mrs spiritual Fraud, sell all their earthly belongings, refund all their ill begotten gains, rend their clothe, put ash on their forehead and wear sack cloths as an outward sign of repentence...then sign up to work in the food kitchens of america for the rest of their lives -- for after all , did not Jesus tell the rich young man to sell all his belongings and to follow him when the latter asked Jesus how he(the young man) could gain the Kingdom of Heaven ?
Brother Angelikos de Souza
Quod erat demonstrantum
I do not have much of a problem with the Olsteens spendining so much money for first class tickets. As I understand it it he made a lot of money before he was the Pastor of Lakewood, and his book has made him conciderable moneys.
Millions of people fly every year, and very few passengers. will cause disruptions such as that by Mrs Osteen. When passengengers do act up enough to be tossed off they are usually found to be derranged drunk, or mentally unstable. Witnesses described Victoria as charging the door to get at the pilot. It all looks to me that Victoria and Paris have a lot in in common.
What we need to keep in mind about "not hearing her side of the story" is that is her choice. She is the one that is being silent. She is the one that chooses not to explain, She is the one that chooses not to appologize to the folks who got delayed 2 hours because of her little temper tantrum. The Christian thing to do is to confession and seek fogiveness. Her her silence speaks volumes about her charactor. Her sins were not so much against the Airline it was the stealing of 2 hours away from every passenger on that plane.
Before anyone rushes to judgment about the Osteens flying first class, has anyone considered that they likely EARNED elite status as frequent flyers? My husband flies first-class -- and sometimes I do too -- as he has earned this status with his frequent business trips. Furthermore, simply because someone is in ministry does not mean he or she cannot take a family vacation -- give me a break! Lastly, until we hear both sides of the story, do not be so quick to judge -- unless you would like to be judged yourself.
Listen... just because of their status does not make them null and void of making a mistake - temper or not! No one has mentioned the attitude of the flight attendant on all of these news commentary's. Have any of you ever stood semi-upright in an airplane for any amount of time... its back breaking and the flight attendant should have made her or anyone elses seat suitable for a flight and not to mention you have two kids to care for.
Has anyone ever gotten upset? Has anyone's spouse ever gotten upset? Has anyone ever had a bad day or edgy emotions during a vacation. Moms have alot of pressures on vacation... the organization is gone for a woman and its an "I have to make everything 'work'" attitude which some of us could have handled it better and some of us would have handled it worse.
Leave her alone and let her have one bad day for goodness sake.
We let ourselves have them quite frequently right?
The Osteens do alot - what impact are we making?
It is funny to read those people that want to be quick to chastise or critize the Osteens for sitting in first class and for taking a vacation. These people, (those who are critical) are hateful, hurtful, ignorant and are fighting the junk in their minds so much so that they take the tiniest of opportunities to critize others.
Maybe they ought to work on themselves, improve their self esteem, work on personal development, love people more and if they are frustrated with their finances...do something about it. Yes, this is a great country and you can vacation wherever you want if you get results. I don't know the Osteens and I have never attended their church...but they seem to be doing a tremendous amount of good and making a positive impact on others. Maybe the naysayers should get off their butts and go help someone...even yourselves. By the way lazy, negative thinkers and people that get no results will keep on feeling low self esteem and soured on life. Go do something good..
God bless, you, Brother de Souza....AMEN and Hallelujah
You have so well-stated the truth.
You give me hope that there might really be a few Christians in this greedy self-centered country (read: administration, as well)
the squabble about flying first class or taking vacations could go on and on... what is most apparent is that the smiling preacher lady on television isn't all she puts out. she's phony, phony, phony, and totally insincere. come on, how many people do you know who have been kicked off a flight full of wealthy people traveling to colorado who are going to be incredibly livid about a two hour delay? additionally, why would a brand carrier who shares the same hometown as a local superstar go to great lengths and gambles to get throw her off their flight? she's cleary UNSTABLE.
Fruits of The Holy Spirit is Self Control and Patience. You can correct a person but with gentle and respect.
It's incredible! After reading all these commments I realize more and more how critical and judgemental we are as a society. God's word is clear. Salvation is an individual thing. A true Christian is one who instead of looking at other's faults and misfortunes, pray and continue growing with integrity and truth. We really waste so much time looking at other's instead of focusing on our goals and God's given plans and purposes. People need caring and honest Christians. Who cares what happen to the Osteen's? That's not of my concern. I will pray for them and the attendant. Brother Souza, what kind of Brother are you?
Jesus walked on water, though PETER, fret due to the fear he felt when he started looking at what was happenning around him. This day in history no one can walk on water, becuase they are looking at what is happenning around them.
With this in mind, are these comments Soup for the Soul or just DevilsFoods?
TONY DE JESUS HOUSTON TEXAS
I really object to Christian Fundamentalist trying to interfere with a flight and/or flight attendants.
I guess if they would had been another color they'd be in Gitmo by now.
Instead they fly off to Vail.
Only in America, dude.
Lakewood Church: an Oasis of Love
Everyone is say Victoria did this and that, how many of you know what happened ? The Osteens have a right to take a vacation, they do a lot of good for a lot of people,so why keep this thing going? They are entitled to a lot more than they take time to get..why dont you all take time to listen to Joel on Sunday mornings and see how good you feel after the service..God Bless the Osteens....
Brother De Souza: you're rather self important, aren't you. Talkin all that Pentecostal tripe about the Qsteens'! I'd never presume to bring a curse on anyone, but then I'm not as close to the Throne as you are. What goes around comes around,Folks,so be careful what you do and what you wish for!
It's really amazing that anybody could equate what these two so-called servants of jesus did to what something some entertainment bozo or diva would do. At least the entertainment bozos and divas pay their TAXES and don't go around preaching a bunch of holy rolla crappola that they obviously do not practice. (At least not while going on a trip to one of the most expensive ski resorts in the U.S.)
Just because a person is a Christian doesn't mean that they are not human. If you ring the Popes nose he will bleed. What we know in part we judge in part. I John 1:9 is the answer to the whole matter, whether the flight attendant or Victoria was the one in the wrong. God is a forgiving God. It is God and God alone who will have to forgive even all those of us who stand in judgment of our sister.
In Christ, Jackie in Leavenworth, KS.
Regardless of what was said, when you are leading a ministry globally there is a responsibility that comes with it... and Ms. Olsteen's actions were inappropriate, however that does not mean "condemn" her. What bothers me the most, is people do not want to acknowledge "sin" as sin nor accept responsibility for "sin." Call it what it is.. repent, change, ask for forgiveness and move on.
Furthermore ministers are not sentenced to a life of not skiing and denied the comfort of first class seating. Get real.
As for the FBI's involvement, we're told it's standard procedure for them to review all passenger removal incidents. According to Continental, this one is a closed case.
Pastor Joel Osteen preaches to an average of 40,000 people a week at Lakewood Church services. Lakewood opened in the former home of the Rockets, Compaq Center, back in July.
It took $90 million and a year and a half of renovations. Osteen's ministry is taped and aired around the world. No doubt an apology to the delayed passengers of flight 1602 has been taped, too.
God bless Victoria Osteen. She is human.
What is so sad to me, is that it seems like so many people are foaming at the mouth, just waiting for Joel or Victoria Osteen or Lakewood Church to "fall" or something. I've heard people commenting over the last week, gleefully rejoicing in the negative press Victoria has received....
Such a shame, really.
Let he who be without sin cast the first stone.
What matters is one's relationship with God. Victoria's love for God is so apparent each and every time that I see her as she ministers to the people of Lakewood Church and to people that will listen to her message of love and compassion. We all loose our way from time to time, but God is the only One that does not. The Osteens' message from God is one that we should consider and use to light our way to the Lord. Christians all over the world should do just what the Osteens have shown and asked us to do. Forgive and bless our enemies as well as our friends. If Victoria or the flight attendant did something wrong to each other as well as others on the flight, then forgive them and bless them. Why? As Pastor Joel would say...to keep our close relationship with God. Anger and hate will keep God from being in our lifes and keep us from being able to express His love in the world and that after all is what it is all about.
Now it's all about damage control.
There sure is a lot of hateful comments in this blog. Just because the Osteens are ministers, does not mean that they are not entitled to have a vacation or sit in first class. Where is that wrong? I think since no one knows the whole story, they should not be too quick to jump to conclusions and label her as guilty since the whole stroy has not been revealed. Before you bash them for taking a vacation, look at your own life and where you fall short.
Unfortunely, you are right. It is tough to stand back and not throw the next blow, but that is the only thing that is going to keep this from escalating into a media circus. Human nature is so twisted at times, always looking for that next negative adrenaline rush. At least one thing that the Osteen family will learn from this is who their true friends are. Hopefully, the the family will stand together and show each other love and support. This has truly been a lesson in humility for all of us to see how public opinion can change on a dime. My grandmother used to say something like, 'a life of good deeds can be wipe away with one single bad action.' So true.

Well, I get crabby too. I guess the medal should go to Joel for putting up with her PMS or whatever it was. My husband is also a saint, I must say. Remember Martha got upset with Mary too. Only Jesus is our model. May God help Victoria eat the humble pie and the rest of us to mind our own lives.
No pastor should ever live in a $1.5 million dollar home like Joel Osteen does. A pastor doesn't need to buy his family's clothes at Sprawl-Mart but he shouldn't be clothing them in Polo Ralph Lauren, a rather expensive brand. No pastor should be flying first class. (You still arrive in the same place and at the same time as those in coach) and God knows what kind of accommodations they stayed at in Vail... I'm guessing it was free from someone they know BUT if they had paid for a trip all on their own I'm sure it would have been 5-star all the way. Very sad. I feel confident they're not abusing church money but still their spending actions are abhorant. People can go spend money like that if they choose but for a pastor to do so... that ain't right no matter how you look at it. A pastor should be an example of a man trying to live like Christ. Jesus, I am quite sure, would never have stayed in a Hyatt or Four Seasons hotel nor would He have ever flown First Class even if given a free ticket! I have a feeling Mr. Joel could live without a Jaguar or a BMW, I'm sure he could shop at JC Penny and be content, a nice, fancy date with his wife every now and then would be okay and there's nothing wrong with a fun but modest vacation... but he *could* be a simple man trying to emulate Christ... but Mrs. Osteen has upper class tastes and so she wants to spend gobs of money. Sure they give to the church, I don't doubt that, but when you ask for money from parishoners so you can help others, you shouldn't be spending more on one vacation then some church families make in a month!!! A pastor and his family should be examples of modesty and non-excessive living.
Yes, we all "lose it" at times. My problem with this incident is that barely a month ago, Joel was on television stressing the importance of being nice to people in customer service situations. He seemed to imply that it wasn't very "Christian" to berate people who were just trying to do their jobs. If her actions were indeed over the top (as the comments from fellow passengers would suggest), now what will those people think of Lakewood Church? Years ago, I was in a customer service situation and was treated very rudely by someone who basically wanted me to ignore our policies and procedures, which I was unable to do. The patron then attempted to throw his weight around by telling me he was the director of our local Council of Churches. After that, I couldn't respect anything I heard from the Council.
I was on that flight to Eagle (vail area) with my husband and infant son. We were delayed nearly two hours at the gate. We had a clear view of the situation and I can tell you that Mrs. Osteen did not freak out like some are saying. She had a disagreement with a flight attendant and didn't comply with what they told her to do. She was asked to leave the plane and after what seemed like an eternity we finally took off. No hysterically screaming woman or running flight attendants from the back of the plane. Just very cranky passangers whose christmas vacations were delayed a bit.
This is not telling me anything that I did not already know about the Osteens. Who does'nt want to listen to a sunday morning happy pill every sunday or cotton candy christianity. If you are not preaching the cross and the ten commandments than you are not preaching the gospel, plain & simple. I remember on Larry King Live when Osteen was too worried about offending people, he was afraid to come out and say that Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven, read the transcript, it will surprise you. He is not fooling Jesus Christ one bit.
I myself am in ministry and to think I couldn't take a well earned family vacation is insane! We all need a break and I can say ministry is 24 hours, 7 days a week. Families need that time together to focus on each other. If they were getting a divorce, if Joel was a bad father not spending time with his children, you critics would be out hating him for that too. Give they Osteens a break!
Its funny to me that most people including Christians complain about churches dying, dull sermons that don't change lives, and how we want to change the world. And yet here we have a family who have worked really hard for their money, are using it for good things, and you want to dictate the kind of clothes his kids can wear, the kind of car he can drive. If he were a doctor, you would say he earned that money, to spend it how he likes. He is a pastor who has a salary given to him by his church. He earns it, plain and simple! He's not leading and being responsible to shepherd a church of 300. It's 30,000 plus a viewing audience. Their is tremendous pressure and work that goes into that each week. I believe he has been blessed and has just as much right to take a vacation wherever he wants, sitting in whatever seat he wants if he's a pastor, doctor, or lawyer. Quit judging!
unga bunga bunga
I wouldn't want a wet seat in 1st class either. maybe Joel should of sat there and let his wife have the dry seat. after all wet seat "white entertainment television" seat is right there in 1st class. why not take a bus gus.
in 2001 a news report said Oil companies are gearing up for the possibility that sections of the
700-mile-long trans-Alaska oil pipeline will need to be rebuilt as the permafrost thaws.
and again in 2004 it was reported "Forget talk of global warming and speculation of what it might do in 50 years, or 100. Here and across the West, climate change already is
happening. Temperatures are warmer, ocean levels are rising, the
snowpack is dwindling and melting earlier, flowers bloom earlier,
mountain glaciers are disappearing and a six-year drought is killing
trees by the millions."
From The Anchorage Daily News, 1/9/03: At least 700 miles of the 800-mile trans-Alaska oil pipeline cross
discontinuous or permanent permafrost.
While pipeline operators don't worry too much about the very cold
permafrost north of the Brooks Range, they do monitor pipeline
supports stuck in much warmer permafrost further to the south, said
engineer J. David Norton, who has worked with Alyeska Pipeline Service
Co. for many years.
Some 182 of 78,000 the T-shaped pipeline supports are being closely
monitored -- and 24 have been replaced since 2000 when they became too
unstable, he said.
Luke: 21:25 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;
21:26 Men's hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.
21:27 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.
21:28 And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

I tell you what I like about Victoria. I love her energy and presence when she gets up on the stage. She really has powerful prayers. Not for one minute do I think she's perfect or that she should be. I only know one person who is perfect: Jesus is perfect.
He still loves her and all of us imperfect ones. I just pray that whatever people hear about her that they will pray for the best things to come out of this. God bless you all!
I'll tell you what you all need!!! You all need to look at Jesus and smile like Joel. I think God is about luxury as well as frugal living. Learning to be blessed with His presence at any financial station in life is what being a Christian is all about. I hope he blesses all of you and other readers with great peace, joy and love. Do not be surprised and saddened by negative stories such as this. More will come. Only, look to Jesus and be encouraged. He's working on each of us Christians.
It's very easy to fall into stereotypes and generalizations when things like this happen.
However, it's safe to say that when most flight crews are physically handled, the aggressors (passengers) should be arrested immediately and as soon as possible and allow the judicial systems and legal teams to provide the burden of proof to decide the case.
I have witnessed SOOOOO many incidents onboard and at the airport whereby ground staff and inflight staff have been physically handled by passengers and they (the passengers) have been arrested without much fanfare. Why wasn't this the case in this incident? Truly laws within society are so unfair at times. I wouldn't be surprised if there were corrupt interference in this case seeing who is involved... and seeing that politics always sits not far from the pulpit.
If this flight attendant has done her homework, she will have had her attorney communicate with the FAA, the FBI, Houston Police, her union and the Company...and hopefully her attorney will use character profiling, precedent and the Company's lack of determination in following through with Federal and Company rules and regulations.
Surely, the Company and the FAA has a thorough historical documentation of all instances such as these and can possibly provide very clear demographic statistics to prove that the lack of proper decision-making in this incident (not to have Mrs. Osteen arrested) was a clear case of profiling.
Personally, if she's right, I hope she wins her civil and punitive damage lawsuit. I've yet to know of any large-scale ministers in this country that don't peddle their communities while living in disdain to what they preach. I find it weird anyone who would choose a lifestyle of prophesizing moral code to the general public. But that's just my "common sense".
At the end of the day, wouldn't it be ironic for the Osteens to payout this suit or settle with the money coming from their ministry? I guess everyone will have to pay for Mrs. Osteen's sins.
March 21, 2007
Osteen lawsuit still ticking alongThings are apparently progressing — slowly — in the lawsuit against Victoria Osteen filed in September: The Chronicle is reporting that the attorney for a flight attendant accusing Osteen, the wife of Lakewood Church pastor Joel Osteen, of assault wants to have the interior of the airplane where the incident occurred photographed.
This all goes back to Dec. 19, 2005, when Osteen reportedly went ballistic about some liquid that had been spilled on her first-class seat on a Continental flight bound for Vail; passengers on the flight said Osteen ran up the aisle and began banging on the door of the cockpit and that several flight attendants had to restrain her. Eventually, the Osteen clan was thrown off the plane. Though Osteen denied the whole thing (despite reports from fellow passengers and an FBI investigation that said it did, indeed, happen), one of the flight attendants — Sharon Brown, who claims Osteen pushed her and elbowed her in the left breast — filed suit against Osteen. Brown is seeking compensation for physical and mental injury she says she sustained during the encounter.
So a state district judge is set to consider a request from Brown's lawyer, Reginald McKamie Sr., to photograph the interior of the plane to better understand the facts of the incident. Osteen's attorney, Rusty Hardin, said he doesn't oppose that, but he still maintains (as he's paid the big bucks to do) that Osteen never did anything wrong. "Victoria never assaulted [Brown] or raised her voice," he said, adding that he thinks the suit is just an attempt to get money from Lakewood Church.

pastors? a word misused. good gosh.
we are all ministers it says in the good book.
the osteens are simply positive speakers.
don't watch every move that they do to see if they'll trip up, cuz they will, they're human. extrapilate the positive from joels ramblings sunday morn and then apply it, then move on.
you people are assuming who is right. judge not and thy shall not be judged?
I don't know the whole story or what truly took place that day.
All I can say is that I myself have encountered rude experiences with Continental's flight attendants. At least Victoria Osteen didn't take hers sitting down.
I think Joel Osteem is the greatest speaker since Anthony Robbins. After I listen to one of his speeches, I feel refreshed and encouraged and ready to take on the world! However, he is human and so is his wife. Sometimes people do silly things; Mrs Osteem did and she was removed from the plane, just as she should have been.
However, I do not think this is front page material. It was unfortunate and will probably not happen again. I'm sure she has asked God for forgiveness and received it.
Now, why is no one bitching about Tyson Chicken dumping labor day and replacing it with a Muslim holy day? The Muslims hate us and Mrs Osteem loves us. Muslims want us dead or converted and Mrs Osteem wants us to love each other. Muslim men kill their children for wearing blue jeans and lipstick and dis-honoring them and Mrs Osteem doesn't kill anyone. Where are our values, to whine about small sins and dis-regard big sins? What are our priorities? I know about mine. What about some of you?
Please excuse me. The name is,"Osteen," not osteem.
I believe it is quite likely that Victoria could have lost it and obstructed the flight operations on the way to their family vacation. Apparently the FAA believes that she was guilty such that two years ago they fined her $3,000.
I believe that the greater issue is that Pastor Joel Osteen will have to face the music on this one. Does Victoria need some anger management? Is she a growing Christian or simply a person in a position of prominence? If on a scale of 1 to 10 Victoria scores in the lower percentile on spiritual growth then the pastor of the largest church in America needs to do some serious soul searching. He tells 40k people how they should live every Sunday and is then broadcasted around the world to give advice to possibly millions. Is he able to handle his own wife?
This is no time to strike out against this woman but rather to pray for them that they would take a furlough from their mega church and give attention to their own needs.
I think it is great that the FAA fined Mrs. Olsteen $3K for her behavior and I hope the flight attendant gets her fair share in the lawsuit from The Olsteens. But for the flight attendant to contend that her "faith has been affected" by this incident is absurd from the standpoint of her belief that The Olsteens are what Christianity is about. Mr. Olsteen's position of preaching that "God just wants you to be happy" and profiting from vulnerable followers is easy see through by Christians of even average intelligence. If the flight attendant takes this "Ministry" seriously she must have less than average intelligence to let these bozo's affect her faith. If the flight attendant was cleary thinking, she would feel sorry for these hypocrites and pray for them. Don't get me wrong, I hope the flight attendant gets some kind of compensation in the lawsuit, but there is a much bigger problem here than just Mrs. Olsteen's behavior on the plane.
M.S. - Tennessee
Its too bad that incidences like these have to be publicized so much. Why can't we focus on the positive? Could the plane's delay been a positive? Anyway, whatever happened and I don't think any of us really knows, we are all human -Christian or not.
I just read about this lawsuit on the internet today. If Victoria did cause a disturbance on this flight then the airline was justified in booting her from the airplane. With that said, I smell a money making scheme in the works by the flight attendant in question. This flight attendant is claiming that she developed hemorrhoids from getting pushed? Give me a break, and asking for 10% of Victoria Osteen's net worth; that speaks for itself.

SIMPLY SOUNDS LIKE A "BITCH TANTRUM" TO ME.
SOUNDS LIKE A "BITCH FIT" TO ME.
"PRISSY FIT AS FAR AS I"M CONCERNED"
IT'S AWFUL I'M BEING CENSORED. PLEASE DON'T BELIEVE IN PEOPLE THAT TAKE YOUR MONEY SO THEY CAN TARVEL FIRST CLASS.
SHE NEEDS TO BE NICER TO "THE WORKING CLASS" PERHAPS THEY WILL LET ME PRINT THIS>
FUCKING WHORE. DID SHE OR HER HUSBAND PAY U TO DO THIS?
I like the messages Pastor Osteen brings. However, I grew up in a large Church, although I have faith in God: The large Church get worse over time. "The love of money is the root of all evil" People don't intend to let money affect/change them, but it does. Mrs. Osteen is probably spoiled, she gets her way and demands it. She should pay - keep your hands to yourself is the law of the land
Why black people always wanted to sue? They ALWAYS wanted everything for nothing. This is a stupid lawsuit...The Osteen's need to sue the black lady for creating this mess! She lost her "FAITH" when she saw them - CHA CHING $$$$$$... 10% of their assets! Come on give me a break!!!I should start suing the black lady "IF" she win the lawsuit for giving me a headache!!!
I think Osteen showed an "unpleasant" side of her personality and this is shameful given that she is a preacher's wife and gives sermons at the church. I do hope that she will be humbled by this experience. HOWEVER, I also think that the flight attendant was not only "unpleasant," she was also over-sensitive and a SCAM ARTIST. This was an important case. The judge made a good decision. In addition, I don't think it is reasonable for people to make excessive comments about Mrs. Osteen's appearance or comments about their church. Our nation was based on freedom of religion. Their church does a lot of good for many people. There are a lot of positives. Besides, folks make fun of Christians all the time for being too judgmental...this scares them away. Just stop it. Leave it alone already. Hopefully, both of these women will grow in a positive and healthy way from the experience. Honestly, I have more hope for Osteen.
P.S. Give the choice...I would avoid flying on this airline.
So far I haven't heard Victoria's account of this event. I just want to hear both sides in the interest of fairness before I arrive at an opinion about this situation.
It sounds like she was deliberately set up and provoked for the purpoose of this lawsuit. The flight attendant should be evaluated psychiatrically. This incident gave her hemmoroids and she wants 10% of Victoria’s annual salary? Give me a break! It sounds like she does need counseling but not because of this incident which she may well have provoked even unconsciously. This is not so much a silly lawsuit but an exploitive, opportunistic and malevolent attempt to extort money from the Osteens.
