Over at Rhymes With Right, Greg wonders how Gov. Blanco can spend more than half a million dollars on a private office remodeling. In the meantime because of budget shortfalls the state is planning on laying off 18,000 state employees.I'm glad we had the priorities straight -- office upgrades for the governor's staff certainly trump the students and teachers of Louisiana, as well as those who rely on public health programs. Heck -- I bet that a dozen state employees could have kept their jobs if your staff had just walked on older carpet or kept the space configured in the older fashion. After all, it had only been about twenty years since the last remodeling job.I don't know what Gov. Blanco is thinking.
