Shami Farouk Throws his Hat into the Ring

Farouk Shami is running for Texas Governor joining Democrats Kinky Freidman, Tom Schieffer and Hank Gilbert. Everyone knows Kinky, and and the the other 2 guys seem like the typical everyday Democrat hacks. Farouk ( He is better known by his first name than his last) is unique in Democratic circles in that he is a self made man, and understands what it takes to run a business and meet a payroll. In his business dealings he is supportive of small business and understands their importance. This makes him unique among Democrats, and this may be what will make him a formidible candidate in the primarys, and a serious contender against the Republican Candidate.

What about her?
She, like Farouk is entering a crowded primary... Unfortunatly no one knows anything about her.

People do not know about her only if we fail to tell them. Its called activism. That is why I am spreading the message. I do not want a Democrat hack nor a Republican hack running Texas. Rick Perry, is a statist and has attempted to do more harm to the citizens of Texas than any governor I can recall. Kay Bailey, the same. I would rather caste a vote for my conscience than support the corruption of career politicians. Maybe you can drop a little e-ink on your blog about her and if you like what you see tell a friend of two and encourage the same out of them.

I aam not a real stron Perry fan, but any Reublican who actually believes that Perry is as bad as you claim probably should be running as a Democrat, I think you are trying to tell me that Medina is a McCaine style Republican. We don't need anymore leftist Republicans in Texas.

Well It looks like I made some assumptions from your screen name 'Liberty' and your self described love for freedom. Trans Texas Corridor, Forced HPV vaccinations for sixth graders..... Rick Perry is not a conservative. Is that your view of conservatism? Medina is nothing like McCain! Maybe you should look at her site and some of her media clippings if you really want to educate yourself before the primaries. You are not doing the cause of liberty any favors if you don't educate yourself on all the available options.

Ok here is my issue. Her Web site says nothing about where she stands, All I get from you is that she isn't Perry. Her only qualifications from what I can understand is that she is a chair in Wharton county. Perry has given us low taxes strong support 2nd ammendment, and represented Texas on a National level about Libertarian Principles. Medina has raised children, but as far as I can tell has never held a real office at any level. She hasn't addressed any real issues with solutions on her web site except to attack. Perry hasn't always been in my favor and I have been real critical of him on some of the issues you have mentioned.
Medina will have to convince fellow Republicans why she is the better candidate. I honestly haven't seen anything that does that. Her Website does a fine job of telling us that she is a nice lady. but hasn't been very convincing that she is going to be a good governor or be any better than the devil we know.

And yes I will likely do some blogging on the Republican candidates, but I'm going to try to know more about Medina than I now know. If I find that she has actually identified positions and shown us that she actually is capable of doing anything, perhaps She will actually get some support.

Chances Farouk will win are not even slim, none. Texas hasn’t heard the man speak to local or national media. It is not clear what agenda he has beside the apparent and publicized one for media consumption. America fulfilled many dreams and America is in need of few good men to fulfill its dream. Texans are not interested in a business man. We have seen them come and go. There is no place in Texas for egocentric “wanna be” politicians. Texas is a hardcore work state. Unless the man is ready and experienced enough to hold office he is wasting time and money. True, Obama made it to office but he had the education, articulation, he is extremely eloquent, and he has always been a democrat. What education does this man have? When did he join the Democratic Party? What does he really want from Texas? How can he benefit Texans? What do his business partners say about his ethical business practice? How compliant is his company with the EOEC? Does he hire Hispanics? Does he hire Black American? Does he represent the true Texas diversity and does he adhere to his agenda of supporting education and promoting health for all? Do all his employees have health coverage? Does his company reimburse its employees for sky rocketing education fees and tuitions? Is he a true Texan? We don’t need a 2% or half and half. We only need a Texan to the bone. We need a 100% Texan. These are all puzzling questions that Texas need answered before we consider. My advice to the man is to save the embarrassment and reconsider.

I don't believe political experience counts for much in Texas Gubernatorial races. After all How much experiance did "W" have when he won it. What will hurt him mostly is that he is a Democrat. I don't believe that Texas will ever vote for any Democrat in a state wide election.

As for his employment practices, from what I've seen he takes very good care of his employees, and it is a diverse workforce.

I have to wonder why why it has evewn been brought up though.
